Fire Chief

The City of Forest Grove, Oregon, (pop. 25,435) is seeking a professional administrator to serve as Fire Chief. The Fire Chief oversees the activities and operations of the City of Forest Grove’s Fire Department. Through an Intergovernmental Agreement, the Fire Chief also oversees the City of Cornelius and the Gaston Rural Fire District Fire Departments and provides services to the Forest Grove and Cornelius Rural Fire Districts. This includes fire suppression, fire prevention, emergency medical response, disaster preparedness, rescue services, and training. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in fire administration, public administration or a related field along with ten years of increasingly responsible fire and EMS experience including three years of management and administrative responsibility. Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. Excellent fringe benefit package.
